The "uncertain" territory of the body is the place where the works of Hélène Lord converge. The fragility and complexity of existence is reflected in the notion of "profession", which is the exhaustion and satisfaction of the work accomplished. The transformation through patient work, in movement as well as in rest, opens a reflection on the creative process. Thus, the artist proposes a vision embodied in a staging where loss and absence give more to see than presence itself.
Oscillating between the foreign and the familiar, between the laughable and the tragic, my drawings and sculptures compose a memento of life's apprenticeships. Hélène Lord.
