Mathieu Beauséjour develops his work in a perspective of resistance, diversion or, as he likes to call it, semiotic terrorism. Through these tactics, the artist  tends to subvert the tools and concepts of power, alienation and oppression.

Catherine Béchard and Sabin Hudon’s works diverge familiar shapes by the incorporation of mechanical movements or the production of unexpected sounds. The objects used in the installation, refer to experiences or cultural knowledge, evoking specific images.

Dans l'intervalle

Olivia Boudreau’s work is remarkable for having combined the respective temporalities of performance and videography. She starts from the sequence-shot, the isochrony between the filmed time, the point of view, the time that the video is watched later.

LISE BOISSEAU

Les heures

Lise Boisseau avoids the stretcher and colours and chooses to work with ink on paper (particularly film paper), employing Chinese calligraphy techniques.The choice of such a mode of tracing, fragments the painted surface into a multitude of marks.

A Series

Animals and Children is a series that brings together performances, videos and installations throughout the spring and fall of 2009. The artworks presented attempt to re-direct social behaviours and assumptions about human nature by playing with becoming other than human.

Concert

Le peuplier de Simon, Populus simonii, is a tree about twenty meters high, but it is also an artist duo composed of Simon Bélair and Léon Lo. Simon Bélair plays in the evening fragile and delicate music from samples of sounds gleaned from nature or remixed by computer.

Concert

Myléna Bergeron works from samples of sounds gleaned from the urban environment, the nature or a computer. From these samples, she reconstructs quiet and voluptuous universes. Strangely moving sounds inhabit her enveloping, dreamlike and evocative soundscapes.

Les tas by Rodrigue Bélanger presents a series of photographs depicting landscapes that, paradoxically, resemble portraits: portraits of matter heaps, mounds, cut out on a neutral background. Symmetrically constructed, the landscapes are presented in a uniform way.

Réservoir

Catherine Bodmer's installation consists of 150 large bottles of water arranged in rows with, inside of them, water and aquatic plants. Above the installation, a fluorescent lighting system will further the plants to grow.

Caritas 2003

Caritas is Latin for "high price", "expensive (of a thing)". But Caritas also means "high esteem", "love", "tenderness", "affection". This year again, almost 50 artists agreed to participate in the Caritas sales exhibition organized for the benefit of Gallery B-312.
