L’espace d’un été, la Galerie B-312 s’est métamorphosée en champignonnière. Un matériau vivant y poussait et s’y transformait à son rythme propre pour devenir une œuvre installative. Un espace qui tenait à la fois du laboratoire de biologie et de l’atelier d’artiste.

When the strange knock on the well-known door, it created perceptual and psychological discomfort. Involving itself cunningly, not to say sneaky, it causes awkwardness or fear. The artists reclaim a collective and symbolic basin to better invest it with a personal aesthetic.

PART I

Conversations Montréal | Lyon was initiated by curators Marthe Carrier and Chloé Grondeau and spearheaded by Galerie B-312 in Montreal. It has since become an avenue of exchange between Lyon and Montreal, with a particular emphasis on showcasing the local art scene in each city.

Julie Favreau's practice lies at the intersection of visual arts, dance, choreography and staged. Her research on performative gesture and movement feeds the production of sculptural objects. She creates characters, objects and gestures that compose enigmatic universes.
