In the second exhibition of this special program, Moridja Kitenge Banza, Marion Lessard and Vincent Routhier explore time as a material to think about and model.

 

In partnership with Tour de Bras, Galerie B-312 is pleased to host the Baie Vitrée event, a sporadic series of improvised music and sound art programmed by musicians Philippe Lauzier and Éric Normand.

Conversations Montréal | Lyon was initiated by curators Marthe Carrier and Chloé Grondeau and spearheaded by Galerie B-312 in Montreal. It has since become an avenue of exchange between Lyon and Montreal, with a particular emphasis on showcasing the local art scene in each city.

Thomas Kneubühler addresses the problem of mining exploitation in the northern region of Quebec. By photographing the headquarters of these companies based in Switzerland while their operating site is in Quebec, he questions the controversial issue of land ownership.

The Sensing Realities exhibition is realized as a joint project of Gallery B-312 from Montreal and Remont Gallery from Belgrade in order to connect and exchange current contem­porary art production from Canada and Serbia. 

Valérie Kolakis' practice explores architecture in relation to issues of migration, displacement and change. More specifically, it is a conceptual study of the identity construction and the constraints imposed by society and its physical spaces.

The first public presentation of this work was conceived as an endless piece. Knitwork is built from unknitted clothes that the artist re-knits. Each artifact becomes the visual witness of the passage of time, work, and the bodies that carried them.

Yoshiaki Kaihatsu’s installation continues his longstanding material approach that works with waste or garbage as construction material. He has recently been producing environments constructed and altered by the accumulation of Styrofoam packing material.

These three young musicians throw themselves with pleasure into Galerie B-312's space, surprisingly combining improvisation with composition.

More than forty artists responded to the call, and nearly fifty works will be on sale during this benefit exhibition.

This group exhibition showcases the artistic propositions of individuals active in the visual arts community in Saint-Jean, grouped under the theme À sources sûres.

Alongside her installation Knitwork - Tricot-âge, Germaine Koh will present her lecture The Work of Resistance. This lecture by young Ontario artist Germaine Koh is produced as part of the L’art qui parle conferences.
