In collaboration with Action Centre-Ville
Originally from Val-d’Or, Québec, Andréanne Godin (born 1984) currently lives and works in Montréal. Elle explore les possibilités du dessin en observant, en décortiquant et en mettant en relation les thèmes du paysage, de l'environnement bâti et de la perception spatiale. In 2007, she received a B.A. in Visual Arts from Laval University, Quebec City, and in 2013, an M.F.A. from Concordia University, Montreal. Godin was awarded, later that year, the Hnatyshyn Foundation’s Charles Pachter Prize for Emerging Artists. Her work has also been supported by both Federal and Provincial art councils since 2012. She recently took part in several residency programs in Canada and abroad. With the support of the Conseil des Arts et Lettres du Québec, she spent the winter of 2017 as artist in residence at the Atelier Mondial of the Christoph Merian Foundation in Basel (SUI). Over the summer of 2016 she was the first Quebec artist to be hosted by the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation in Connecticut (USA). Furthermore, she took part in the Struts & Faucet artist in residence program in Sackville New-Brunswick (2015) and to the Art Mandat artist residency in Barjols, France back in 2012. Over the past decade, Godin’s work has been presented nationally and internationally in Canada Switzerland, Belgium, United States, Cuba, and France. She is represented by Galerie Nicolas Robert.

THE ARTIST: Andréanne Godin
Her Medium: Photography, drawing and installation. Explorations of notions of space representation (physical and perceptual) through photography, drawing and installation.
In collaboration with Galerie B-312, the multidisciplinary artist Andréanne Godin invites you to live a memorable artistic experience where the living space and the emotions that emerge from it will serve as raw material for artistic creations. You will be led to explore the range of artistic practices of the artist who offers you to take a more sensitive look at the places surrounding you and to revisit the ones that have marked you in some way. She will also lead you to think about representation strategies and ways of placing drawings and photographs in the space, channeling and suggesting impressions and emotions related to personal and collective memory. Combining several mediums, this workshop will allow you to explore new facets of contemporary art through your experience. In addition to hands-on workshops, a visit to Gallery B-312 and an introduction to the artist's work will be on the agenda. At the very end of the workshops, a public presentation is planned at Galerie B-312.
