Eastern Edge is an artist-run centre founded in 1983. It has 114 member artists and collaborators from Saint John and the region. This travelling exhibition will also be presented at the SAW Gallery in Ottawa.
Galerie Sans Nom, to be hosted by Galerie B-312 as part of its exchange project. In turn, Galerie B-312 will be present in St- Jean, Newfoundland this September and then at Galerie Sans Nom Co-op Itée. in Moncton, New Brunswick. This group exhibition showcases the artistic propositions of individuals active in the visual arts community in Saint-Jean. Grouped under the theme À sources sûres, enfance de l'art, the works of these nine artists give rise to a multitude of genres and interpretations that range from topographical surveys to domestic objects to artist's books, etc. The exhibition will be presented in a series of exhibitions that will take place in the gallery's gallery in Moncton, New Brunswick. As a thematic exhibition, each of the participating artists appropriates the notions of territory, dwelling and intimacy derived from the evocative spirit conveyed by the theme.
Artists Debra Kuzyk, Marylin Koop and Beth Oberholtzer will be present at the opening.
