Native of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Émilie Fortin studied at the Conservatoire de musique de Val-d'Or, as well as in classical performance at Université de Montréal. In 2017, she completed her master's degree at McGill University under the direction of Russell DeVuyst. She has participated in the creation of over forty works for trumpet. Her collaborations include physical elements, linked to her formations in body mime, dance and theater. Since 2018, she has been the artistic director of the soloist collective Bakarlari. She is also a member of the Freesound ensemble and the improvised sound mime duo ék, with trombonist Kalun Leung. She has taken part in various events, including the soundSCAPE Festival (Italy), Summer Institute for Contemporary Performance and Practice (Boston), Re:Sound (Cleveland). The artist holds grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec and the Conseil des Arts de Montréal.

Based in Montreal, Kalun Leung is a collaborative trombonist, instrumentalist and sound artist with an extensive practice in instrument construction, electronics and movement. He was a member of New York sound and movement collective ECHOEnsemble from 2018 to 2020. As Associate Director of Academic Affairs at The New School in New York, Kalun Leung was involved from 2019 to 2022 in the design, launch and administration of the Master of Music, Performer-Composer degree. In 2019, Kalun was composer-in-residence for the NYU New Music Ensemble. He has also completed artistic residencies at Harvestworks, Brooklyn Fashion & Design Accelerator (BF+DA), Teatro del Lago and Orford Musique. He has received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts in research and creation and from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) in film and media/new technology production.

Composer, clarinetist/saxophonist, sound artist, teacher and summer sailor, Philippe Lauzier lives in Montreal. His adventurous practice often manifests itself in improvisation, but also in written, hybrid and electroacoustic forms of instrumental music. He collaborates with the group Splendide Abysse and also with the Williwaw trio, which is interested in instrumental augmentation or transmutation through the involvement of performative objects. His projects include Pianotissage, Gritty ; Navalorama, Le Parc est dans la boîte, Bleu Pénombre, Sept objets, Made in China and Sur les territoires sirènes. He is an active member of the groups and ensembles Sainct Laurens, Quartetski and SuperMusique productions. He also collaborates on music for Liberté-Anne Lymberiou, Tom Jacques, Jean Derome, Isaiah Ceccarelli, Michel F Côté, Cléo Palacio-Quintin, Éric Normand, Pierre-Yves Martel, Terri Hron, Adam Kinner, Joe Grass and others.
