OLIBRIUS
STAGING OF THE L’ANUS SOLAIRE et LE MORT, a TEXTS OF GEORGES BATTLE
Galerie B-312 is pleased to welcome the very first work by Olibrius, a staging of two texts by Georges Bataille, With this theatrical diptych, Olibrius opens a space between theatre and performance where, to serve Bataille's text, the actor first tests the resistance of his body in immobility; an immobility around which the whole event is structured. -Isolation of the being in its walls, immobility is also the very possibility of the investment of ineffable forces to do the impossible: to get out of immobility. With this event, Olibrius explores the "actor-being" of the actor while metaphorizing this very human fact of the choice of immobility either to sink into immobility or, on the contrary, to escape from it. Immobility, a morbid form of the absence of movement, is first and foremost the reflection of an obstacle that refuses to know and from which it is always possible to escape. Freeing oneself from it implies a risk; a risk where death may be at the meeting point, but never as in immobility. The choice is ours.
