Cian Éthrie, a Montréal-based duo formed by Francis Amireault (objects, arrangements) and Marcello Marandola (guitars, objects, arrangements), scoffs at all musical boundaries and plays with everything. The duo mixes classical instruments, such as guitar and violin, with computers and samplers to create a folk tinged with concrete music and digital melodies. Victoria Stanton, known in the visual arts milieu for her performances and photographs, marks a turning point in her creation with her recent incursion into music. Equipped with a keyboard, a few recorded loops and her voice, she gives us her brand new universe where absurdity and naivety meet. Her songs navigate the murky waters of a playful melancholy, perfect songs for children in adult bodies.
