Nuage Vert
The Galerie B-312 is pleased to welcome the french duo HeHe. Under this sardonic acronym is the conversation of two involved accomplices, Helen Evans and Heiko Hansen. The artists are presenting the video version of Nuage Vert, an outstanding intervention produced in Finland and France which consisted in illuminating the fumes discharged from a thermal power plant or an incinerator with a green coloured laser beam. With infrared cameras and sensors, the dimension of the beam was transformed according to recorded variables. The strength of Nuage vert resides in the paradox it harbors: under the extreme beauty of this moving luminous shape, the fleeting imprints of our occupation of the land and its impacts on the environment unfold before our very eyes.

The French collective HeHe brings together British and German artists Helen Evans and Heiko Hansen. Under this scathing acronym, two committed accomplices meet. Their work-intervention(s) are rooted in the community, the realm of social, human and political . -The collective have designed surprising hybrid machines that are at times oversized.-Their projects are often the result of highly sophisticated processes. From conception to realization to the presentation; researchers, developers, scientists and specialists are involved. With Nuage Vert, the artists propose a masterful intervention they have done in Finland and France: Illuminated clouds of smoke released into the atmosphere - sometimes by an incinerator, sometimes by an energy transformation plant - a green laser beam. Equipped with sensors, the size of the beam could be transformed according to predetermined variables. In Helsinki, the crowd was invited to alter the representation of the cloud by reducing their energy consumption. Remarkably simple, this visualization made it possible to measure virtually or even physically, the impact of the gesture, which was far more elusive. Controversial ? Provocative ? -The strength of Nuage Vert is the paradox it conceals: under the extreme beauty of this luminous shifting form, the fleeting imprint of our occupation of the territory and its effects on the environment appear before our eyes.
