Isabelle Hayeur is concerned about the environment, the urban development and the social conditions. Through photography and video, she questions the ambivalence of our relationship to the changing world. Isabelle Hayeur’s works have been widely exhibited in Canada, Europe and the United States. Her works have also been presented in Mexico, Argentina, Turkey and Japan. She has participated in many major public shows, such as the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa), Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts (MassMoca), Casino Luxembourg Forum d'art contemporain, Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (Berlin) and Tampa Museum of Art. She also has participated in many artists’ residencies. In 2006, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec and Oakville Galleries organised the first survey exhibition of the artist’s works. Accompanied by a monograph, this exhibition has been shown in Ontario, Nova-Scotia, Québec and Alberta. The same year, she took part in the 37th Rencontres internationales de la photographie in Arles as part of the New Discovery Award.
