Galerie B-312 is pleased to present Background://, an exhibition featuring artists Cynthia Girard, Nelson Henricks and Manuela Lalic. Presented at the Remont Gallery in Belgrade, Serbia, this exhibition explores the question of identity and how it affects our relationship to the world. Collaborating with a contemporary art centre in the international arena is not unexpected. Collaborating with a centre whose political and cultural mandate leads one to questioning their identity baggages has been crucial to the development of this two-voiced project. Through this artistic experience, curators Marthe Carrier and Manuela Lalic wish to incite a reflection on what defines us on our own and what connects us to the other, in a community of thoughts, knowledge and humanity. -This exhibition presented at the Remont Gallery is part of an exchange project between the two centres. In 2013, Galerie B-312 will present the Montréal public with works by several Serbian artists. An event to follow.
