Le peuplier de Simon began as a musical solo project by Simon Bélair. Recently, during concerts, his accomplice Léon Lo accompanies on the visual.—Both are the founders of the late Montréal label Natacha's Recording. Together, they are part of a dozen groups or projects. A first album was released on Foxy Digitalis Natacha’s Recordings in 2007. They also created the music for Magnhild Winshes, The Tale of the Deceifull Dog.

Le peuplier de Simon, Populus simonii, is a tree about twenty meters high, but it is also an artist duo composed of Simon Bélair and Léon Lo. Acupuncturist during the day, Simon Bélair plays in the evening fragile and delicate music from samples of sounds gleaned from nature or remixed by computer. To listen to Le peuplier de Simon is to let oneself be invaded by the sound of the wind in the leaves, the water flowing from a stream, the pebbles that clash… At Galerie B-312, Léon Lo will add images inspired by disco and its cultural influence.
