For this occasion, Mathieu Cardin tranformed the space of Galerie B-312. The architecture of the installation, among other things, its counter and its illuminated sign, immerses the visitor into a commercial context where everything has been contemplated to highlight the objects for sale.

LAND CLAIM
Thomas Kneubühler addresses the problem of mining exploitation in the northern region of Quebec. By photographing the headquarters of these companies based in Switzerland while their operating site is in Quebec, he questions the controversial issue of land ownership.

As part of Le Mois de la Photo à Montréal
Liam Maloney photographed refugees living in a makeshift camp in Lebanon. At dusk, using their mobile phones, they communicate with their relatives in Syria. The artist captures moments of intimacy where images and text messages exchanged carry life, death, suffering and hope.

During her residency, Camila Eslava has created a series of 170 meditative drawings that follow different variations of black ink drops on photographic white paper. She then sent several of them, randomly, to various strangers who are residents of Montreal.

LES DEHORS

Charles Guilbert draws only human silhouettes, inhabited by the strange desire to exhaust that already exhausted figure. By drawing the human figure repeatedly, he juggles with two contradictory desires: that of sealing an archi-known image and that of dissolving it for good.
