Jin-me Yoon (born 1960) is a Korean artist who lives and works in Vancouver. She also teaches Visual Art at the School for the Contemporary Arts at Simon Fraser University. Since the early 90s, through her practice of photography, video and installation, she re-examined questions concerning history, place and the body supported by an underlying interest in how these very questions are based on entangled and interdependent relations. Her work has been exhibited across Canada as well as internationally. Among her recent solo and group exhibitions: LandMarks 2017 (Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, 2017); Photography in Canada: 1960-2000, at Canadian Photography Institute of the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa, 2017); Married by Powers, at MediaCity Seoul (2016); Rencontres improbables (The Secret Encounters of Kusama Kalthoum), at Gallery Oqbo (Berlin, 2016) and Project 35: The Last Act, organized by the Independent Curators International organism (2014). In 2013, she was awarded a Smithsonian Artist Research Fellowship.
