This Friday, May 3, Galerie B-312 cordially invites you to 3 hours of happiness, 1 sparkling evening and 2 not-to-be-missed events: the opening of the CARITAS sales exhibition and the launch of Galerie B-312's fifth edition of Coffret de la Galerie B-312. -For its 10th anniversary, the gallery has decided to give a different form to its benefit event and is launching this year an exhibition-sale governed by a single constraint: the prices of the works must be made up of the figures making up the gallery's patronymic, i.e. one, two and three. Thus, CARITAS' works will be sold at the exclusive prices of 123, 132, 213, 231, 312 or 321 dollars. -58 artists have accepted to place one or more of their works on sale for the benefit of the gallery. This support from the artistic community seems as significant to us as the event in context of the 10th anniversary commemoration. We would like to thank them and all those who, in one way or another, and through the support they provide to Galerie B-312, give their unfailing support to the promotion of artistic practice in all its forms. By purchasing a work of art, you are also participating directly in the support of our artist-run centre. Because Galerie B-312 is as much concerned with the dissemination of artists' work as it is with the promotion of artistic practice, the gallery increasingly gives a voice to the artists who exhibit at the gallery, for example, during evening meetings, round table discussions, and with groups of students. But the diffusion of the artists' production and the promotion of the artist's gesture are also done through the publication of Cahiers accompanying each exhibition. Once a year, Galerie B-312 launches a ‘Coffret' of all the exhibition catalogues of the same season. This year, on the occasion of the opening of CARITAS, the gallery will launch Coffret No. 5 of the 2000-2001 season.-On the evening of May 3, the gallery will offer a Coffret to each buyer of a CARITAS work of art. Prizes will also be drawn among all the buyers on opening night, thanks to the Parachute art magazine, Écume des jours bookstore, and Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal. To thank all CARITAS participants, Galerie B-312 will hold a raffle on the afternoon of Sunday, May 12 at 3:00 p.m: the sale price of the sold work will be refunded to the buyer.
