Around the seriality of the large format and the representation of the human figure, two artists once again explore the cultural and emotional links that are woven into their respective photographic works. 

Following a small serpentine path through hairy hills and mountains, a robot is walking. Unceasingly, in its circular and alienating course, the robot parades a morphology with double references.

Manon Lévesque's work proposes an implementation that deliberately keeps us in a form of ambiguity or abstraction. "Cyclops", in the main space of the exhibition, is composed of computer-generated images and a soundtrack, one enters it by being looked at, and then, one looks. 

Léon Perreault's artistic work takes the audience on a journey across the plains. Empty and flat spaces that are confronted by the verticality of the two tower sculptures Murmur and Breath. 

Halfway between the real and the imaginary, three historiographies are inscribed against these walls of meaning, the sculptures functioning as spaces of reverberation. This work sets the boundaries of the sensible and the intelligible as a way of understanding reality.

The exchange project between artist-run centres outside of Quebec and the Galerie B-312  is in its final stage with the presentation of the EyeLevel Gallery centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

In her recent work, Sylvie Fraser introduces the nature/culture opposition by confronting elements that belong to these distinct orders. Thus a fence of blades of grass adjoins a metal armour, itself taking on the appearance of a landscape whose camber is reminiscent of that of the vaulted Lanimal. 

Mindy Yan Miller's work refers to history, but to this history that is created and reinvented from what remains of the material or object revisited.

With a touch of humour and irony, the artist Luc de Vette approaches the subjects of painting. Drawing from the records of daily life, the artist appropriates familiar, everyday, even banal objects and reinvests a reflexive power. 

The imprint of words... and other works of art. My work has always recognized the silence and the imprint of words. Silence oscillates. Impotent and powerful. Stimulating and disturbing. Sometimes my body speaks. My posture or the way I cross my arms become words.

In a spatial setting where I favour active zones of silence, I am concerned about the gravity of certain bodies and I am interested in the thickness of things; questioning the lightness of their reputation.

Space as a possibility of oneself, as vertigo This exhibition is a follow-up to the installation Le cercle des épithètes presented last fall in Montreal. These works explore the spaces of subjectivity and what names the I, the absurd relationship between language and what it tries to name: reality.

Robert Dufour has been a painter for several years. He has been very interested in traditional subjects such as landscape, still life and portraiture. This led him to begin a reflection on the social values of these pictorial genres.
